RoadReady

Terms & Conditions

Effective 1 September 2026

These terms govern your use of the RoadReady mobile app ("RoadReady", "the app"), published by The Software Factory ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract in your country, to use RoadReady.

2. What RoadReady is

RoadReady is a study aid for preparing for Ireland's Driver Theory Test. It provides practice questions and timed mock exams for the car, motorcycle, truck and bus categories.

RoadReady is not an official product of the Road Safety Authority (RSA) or the Driver Theory Test service, and using it does not guarantee that you will pass the official test.

3. Not affiliated with the RSA

The Software Factory is an independent developer. RoadReady is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to the Road Safety Authority or the operator of the official Driver Theory Test. Practice questions are written for study purposes and may differ in wording, content or format from those in the official exam. Official test details, fees and booking are only available from the official Driver Theory Test service.

4. Your account

RoadReady uses Google Sign-In. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for activity that occurs under your account in the app. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Intellectual property

The app, its design, text, question bank, explanations, logos and branding are owned by The Software Factory or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own study. No other rights are granted.

7. Pricing

RoadReady is currently free to download and use. We may introduce paid features or a subscription in future. Any charge will be made clear before you commit to it, and paid purchases are handled by the Google Play or Apple App Store under their terms.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that the content is error-free or up to date with the current official syllabus.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Software Factory will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss arising from your reliance on the app's content, including failing the official Driver Theory Test. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the app. On termination, the licence in section 6 ends.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings there.
