Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data the RoadReady mobile app ("RoadReady", "the app", "we", "us") collects, why, and what rights you have. RoadReady is published by The Software Factory.

1. Who we are

The Software Factory is the data controller for personal data processed through RoadReady. You can reach us at ainativehub@gmail.com for any privacy question or request.

2. Data we collect

a. Google account information

RoadReady requires you to sign in with Google. When you do, we receive and store your email address, your display name, and a Google account identifier. We use Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication for this.

b. Study and progress data

Your quiz and mock-exam results, category progress, and study streaks. This data is stored in our Firebase Cloud Firestore database against your account identifier, and is also synced to a file (roadready_sync.json) in the hidden application-data folder of your own Google Drive so you can restore it on another device.

c. Analytics and diagnostics

Through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics we collect technical and usage data: device model, operating system version, app version, language and region, in-app events (for example, starting or finishing a mock exam), and crash reports. This data is used in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.

3. How we use your data

• To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
• To save, sync and restore your study progress.
• To understand how the app is used and to improve it.
• To detect, diagnose and fix crashes and bugs.

4. Legal basis (GDPR)

• Performance of a contract — account, authentication and progress sync, so we can provide the app you asked for.
• Legitimate interests — improving the app and keeping it secure and stable.
• Consent — analytics and diagnostics, where required. You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 8).

5. Who processes your data

We use the following service providers, who process data on our behalf:

• Google Firebase — Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Analytics and Crashlytics.
• Google Drive API — to store your progress backup in your own Google Drive.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.

6. Where your data is stored

Your data is held on Google Cloud infrastructure. It may be processed or stored on servers outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another approved safeguard.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your account and progress data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete the associated data from Firestore. The backup file in your Google Drive is under your control and you can delete it yourself at any time. Aggregated analytics data may be retained.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You can also withdraw any consent you have given.

To delete your account and data: revoke RoadReady's access to your Google account in your Google account settings, and email us to request deletion of your stored progress data.

9. Children

RoadReady is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

10. Security

Data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Access to our Firestore database is restricted by security rules so that each user can only read and write their own records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.

If you are in the EU/EEA and believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In Ireland this is the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
